About Us

After eight-plus years, Buck and I are trying to retire. We are seeking wonderful homes for our rooster Timmy and his three hen friends—also two male ducks, Pickles and Dewey. IF YOU KNOW OF ANYONE WHO CAN TAKE IN OUR BELOVED BIRDS, PLEASE LET US KNOW. THANK YOU!

Spring Farm Sanctuary is a 501(c)(3) non-profit and one of the first farm animal sanctuaries in Minnesota.  We are committed to ending farm animal cruelty and promoting a vegan lifestyle through our rescue, rehabilitation, and education efforts.

We provide a true sanctuary home to rescued farm animals.  We aim to educate the local community, raising awareness of the conditions animals face in factory farming, as well as the detrimental effects it has on our health and the environment.  Through our events and visiting days, we encourage the community to connect with our animals and realize how sensitive, emotional, and caring they are. We also work with local and state governmental organizations and agencies to advocate for laws and policies that prevent animal suffering and promote the fair and compassionate treatment of animals.

Spring Farm Sanctuary was founded in 2016 by Robin Johnson. A lifelong vegetarian and now vegan, Robin has dedicated a significant portion of her life to advocating for and caring about animals and their rights. Robin founded Save Minnesota Moose, a 501(c)(3) organization focused on protecting the moose population in MN. She was an active volunteer at Underdog Rescue and Animal Folks and is a former board member of Pause for Paws. Resigned from the board at Odd Man Inn.
